The tape and the charts are TradingView's widget.
EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and USD/JPY on this desk also carry the ECB daily reference from Frankfurter. That figure is a teaching mid. It is not a broker's live quote.
Gold, Nasdaq 100, and WTI stay with the chart.
London came in quiet on the spot chart. I am not calling a direction.
What I am watching is whether the cash session holds yesterday's range. If it doesn't, I still don't have a measured level to post — I haven't marked one from a source I can point at.
Symbol on the widget: OANDA:XAUUSD. That is spot on that provider's feed, not a futures contract. If your broker shows a different gold, say which contract before comparing the picture.
I keep mixing two numbers in the same journal column.
One is the ECB reference, which moves once a day and is fine for a teaching fill. The other is the price on the broker ticket, which includes their spread and may be a CFD.
If you split them, what do you name the columns? I don't want a third column full of 'my expected profit'.
Before I compare two pictures of 'Nasdaq', I write four lines:
1. Index, futures, or CFD.
2. The exact symbol.
3. The session timezone of the screenshot.
4. Whether the vertical scale is the index level or the broker's price.
The chart on this desk is the widget's Nasdaq 100. A retail screen can track the same name and still print a different number. I won't post a bias until those four lines are filled.
XM and Vantage are on this site as featured partners. That is a commercial placement. It is not a rank, and it is not a regulation check.
When I look at either brand I want the legal entity that would contract with me, the regulator named on that entity, the license number, and the date someone opened the register. ForexCommons is not filling those cells until an editor attaches a primary source.
If you have opened the client agreement, which line names the entity? Post the line, not a slogan.
Working name: first 15-minute range after 07:00 London, on EUR/USD.
Entry logic is not finished. Exit logic is blank. I do not have a stop distance, a sample size, a spread assumption, or a drawdown. I will not invent a profit factor to make the note look complete.
If you have published those fields for a similar session rule, link the write-up. Code is welcome as text. Nothing here is executed.
I am collecting algorithm notes that include, at minimum:
- market and timeframe
- sample size
- period
- spread assumption
- slippage assumption
- commission
- maximum drawdown
- whether anyone other than the author checked it
Missing fields stay blank on this desk. 'Live verified' stays off unless the author can point at a method. Please do not paste API keys. Files are not run.
WTI futures, a spot CFD, and the TVC:USOIL symbol on the widget can diverge on the same afternoon.
Our crude page uses TVC:USOIL and says so. If your note is about CL futures, write CL and the expiry. If it is about a broker CFD, write the broker and the product name. 'Oil is bid' is not a market.
If a central bank said it, paste the document link and the time on the document.
If a politician posted it, we still need the official post or an embed the platform allows. A paraphrase with no link stays off the official-voices rail. I would rather see an empty rail than a quote we wrote ourselves.
